# When to use Shade Cloud

The Shade Cloud is our own hosted version of the Shade Drives.

You get all the capabilities of running Shade and drives without having to manage all of the infrastructure required. You pay for storage and the management of that storage with Shade.

### Unify your files into one <a href="#h_292eaf4d80" id="h_292eaf4d80"></a>

One of Shade's biggest benefits is combining dispersed hybrid workflows into one space unifying your data silos. You now have one application where you manage cloud and self hosted data and full capability to search, access, and share all your data whenever and where ever.

### AI works better in Shade Cloud <a href="#h_f9fb92a52c" id="h_f9fb92a52c"></a>

In the Shade Cloud, we are also able to leverage full capability of our cloud and additional AI models for faster indexing and richer metadata for cloud drive.

### High-Sharing Situations <a href="#h_2c5d1ed04f" id="h_2c5d1ed04f"></a>

Shade’s technology is still limited by you and your internet speed and the distance between our servers, and the destination. As a result - we highly recommend that if you are working remotely with team members across regions or countries to use the Shade Cloud as your basis of collaborative work.

### When should you NOT use Shade Cloud <a href="#h_d39024b15f" id="h_d39024b15f"></a>

There are a few cases where it makes more sense not use Shade (for now)
